Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are
Shields Brow & Beauty Bar is a trading name of Shields Beauty Limited, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 17236257. Our registered office is at 59 Fowler Street, South Shields, England, NE33 1NS, which is also our salon. You can contact us on 0191-455-8206, by WhatsApp on +44 7949 053229, or by email at [email protected].
These terms apply to your use of this website and to appointments and treatments booked with us. They do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
2. Appointments
- You may book online, by telephone, by WhatsApp, through our Facebook page, or in person. Walk-ins are welcome, subject to availability.
- Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment. If you arrive late, we may need to shorten or rearrange your treatment so that other clients are not delayed.
- Treatment durations shown on this website (marked "~") are approximate treatment times only, provided to help you plan your visit. They do not include any waiting time, and a treatment may take significantly longer than shown.
3. Cancellations and no-shows
- If you need to cancel or rearrange, please give us as much notice as you reasonably can — ideally at least 24 hours — by telephone or WhatsApp.
- If you repeatedly fail to attend booked appointments without notice, we may ask you to pay in advance for future bookings.
4. Prices and payment
- All prices are displayed in pounds sterling and are cash prices. An additional charge applies to bank transfer and card payments; we will tell you the amount before you pay.
- Some prices may increase according to the condition of the area being treated, hair or nail growth, and the work required. Certain treatments — including henna designs — are priced individually. In every case we will confirm your price before the treatment begins, and you are free to decline.
- Prices may change from time to time. The price confirmed to you at the start of your appointment is the price that applies.
- If you are unsure about any service or price, please ask — we would rather explain than surprise you.
5. Patch tests
For your safety, all new clients must have a patch test at least 48 hours before tinting, eyelash extension and henna treatments. The patch test is quick and free. We may decline to carry out a treatment where a required patch test has not been done, or where the test produces a reaction.
6. Your health and suitability
- Please tell us before your treatment about any allergies, skin conditions, medical conditions, medication, or pregnancy that might affect your treatment. This helps us keep you safe and choose the right products.
- We may decline or adapt a treatment where we reasonably believe it would not be safe or suitable for you.
7. Aftercare
For the first 24 hours after threading or waxing, please avoid make-up, perfumed cosmetics, chlorine and sunbeds. A cold compress or calamine lotion may help reduce any redness that persists. If you experience an unexpected or serious reaction, contact your GP, call NHS 111, or in an emergency dial 999.
8. Our liability
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of England and Wales.
- Subject to the above, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable to both parties, or for losses that result from information you did not disclose to us (for example, an allergy we asked about).
- This website is provided for general information. While we take care to keep it accurate and up to date, it may occasionally be out of date — the details confirmed in the salon prevail.
9. Website and intellectual property
The content of this website — including text, images, logos and branding — is owned by or licensed to Shields Beauty Limited and is protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may not reproduce it for commercial purposes without our written permission.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your visit or booking is the version that applies.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — although if you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom you may also rely on the consumer laws and courts of your home nation.
